How to care for your jewellery

Below are guidelines that will help you maintain your jewellery, whether a timeless piece or that fashion item, these will help you retain the best quality of your item.

  • Remove jewellery before sleeping to avoid accidental damage.
  • Non-flexible items (herringbone chains, snake chains, collars) should be laid flat when not being worn.
  • Direct contact with perfumes and hairspray may cause discolouration of jewellery. To avoid this put on jewellery after product have been used
  • Hollow items may dent under impact or pressure, and should be treated with care. When purchasing an item ask about whether your item is hollow.
  • Jewellery should be removed when bathing as swimming pools have chemicals that can be harmful to jewellery/pearls.
  • Beware when using domestic cleaning products as chemical agents can erode precious metals and stones.
  • All stone settings should be checked every 12 months to ensure the stones are secure. Please bring your jewellery into one of our stores for review by our instore jewellers. As not all stores have jewellers on site every day it may be worth checking with our store as to a convenient time for your visit.
  • We offer a range of cleaning product that will help keep your jewellery clean.
